Ferrari 641/2 F1 Racing Car: Own A Legend

Your car may have F1-style steering wheels, paddle shifters, or even F1-inspired paints but no matter what modifications you give your beloved four-wheeler, it’s still not a Formula 1 car. But if you have the cash and you’re traveling to Maranello for the Leggende e Passione auction, then you can own an actual F1 car. And not just an F1 car, it’s a story. The late 80’s and early 90’s saw the battle of two juggernauts, “The Professor” Alain Prost drove this very car, chassis number 121 when he battled the late Ayrton Senna in Suzuka, Japan for the World Championship. Senna rammed his McLaren into Prost’s Ferrari, handing the championship to Senna by default. But the FIA thought otherwise and removed the crown from Senna, giving it to his rival. This 641/2 has changed hands over the years and went back to Ferrari last year for an extensive overhaul. After fitting a new set of gears for the seven-speed sequential gearbox, new injection system, new brakes, and a dyno test for the 685 prancing horses from the Tipo 036/037 V12, she’s all ready for her next dance. ~$398,000.
